Collagen is one of the most abundant proteins in the human body. In fact, it accounts for 80% of the proteins in the dermis. It plays an essential role in maintaining the skin's youthfulness, ensuring its firmness and structure.

Our body is naturally capable of producing and renewing its own collagen. However, from the age of 25, this synthesis capacity diminishes, and collagen degradation accelerates. This collagen loss in the skin is linked to chronological aging but also to our lifestyle: UV exposure, pollution, accumulated stress, poor diet, and smoking all cause oxidative and inflammatory phenomena that accelerate collagen degradation. The skin loses its firmness and elasticity, and wrinkles appear.
